Hi! I’m Katinka, and I’m your Greens candidate for Cooper in the 2020 Queensland State election.
I’m a life-long local, advocate and community-builder with experience in administration, customer service, and personal care work. I grew up in this beautiful area, living and working across every suburb that encompasses Cooper. Settling into my professional working life, I have put my roots down in Bardon with my partner James, and our dog, Leo.
I’ve watched our community change and grow, as it has watched me grow.
I’ve also witnessed our political system work in the best interests of big business, rather than the people I care about and the communities to which I belong. It doesn’t have to be like this.
The future of Queensland should be sustainable, equitable, and progressive.
We can have world class, universal education and public health systems; accessible and robust public services like childcare and public transport; cheap, sustainable renewable energy sources; and representatives that are guided by social justice- rather than by corporate interests and the profits of the mega-wealthy.
Politicians should work with us for the betterment of our lives, our communities, and our neighbourhoods. I wish to amplify the voices of everyday people to demand an equitable future, and put political decision-making back where it should be: in the hands of the people.
